The ministry of Culture’s design policy
France is an attractive territory for design, thanks to the many actors who form a solid network and boost the ecosystem (shared practice workshops, schools, associations…). The French high school education offer in design is rich and diversified, with nearly 150 design diplomas awarded in France. The designers trained in these schools are sought after by the largest international companies.
The ministry of Culture wishes to offer a better visibility to French design abroad. This is why it wanted to support the designers, schools, institutions, publishers and companies present in Milan during the most important design week in Europe, through a coordinated communication operation. This operation, carried out with the Institut Français and in partnership with Business France, combines the Ameublement français and French Design by VIA (Valorisation de l’Innovation dans l’Ameublement).
